The Anywhere Augmented Reality (AAR) system is a technique for defining location-specific augmented reality views. AAR is the critical missing link the AR world has been looking for: cracking the code to providing Markerless AR to anyone, anytime, anywhere on Earth.
Patented in 2013, AnywhereAR allows for Markerless Augmented Reality to be used on any portable device with a camera. The system uses recent photos of a particular location to help the user position a portable device in a specific place. Once aligned, a digital “augmented” scene can be displayed to the user, transposed over and combined with the current, real-world environment at that location.
